METHODS OF GIVING
This information is provided to assist you in maximizing your support of Open Hearts Community Mission by taking advantage of the various methods that will allow you to increase the tax advantages of your gift. Please consult your tax or financial professional to determine the best plan of action for your gift.
Outright Gifts of Cash to Open Hearts are fully tax deductible.
Cash pledges to Open Hearts can be made over a period of several years depending upon the size of the gift. A signed pledge or letter of intent is required. Tax deductions are earned only on the amounts paid on the pledge in the year payments are actually made.
Marketable securities may be given to Open Hearts. A major advantage of giving appreciated securities is avoidance of capital gains tax.
Lifetime planned gifts can provide significant tax advantages to produce a higher payout than many conventional investments. For example, a Charitable Remainder Trust provides a lifetime income to a donor and/or their spouse. An income tax deduction is received at the time the trust is established.
Bequests may be made to Open Hearts by a bequeath from an estate through a provision in a will. Outright charitable gifts are not subject to estate taxes. The most common forms of bequests included a specific sum of money, particular securities, other property, or a residual bequest of all or a portion of an estate.

The money donated to Open Hearts Community Mission will be used to help feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, restore the downtrodden, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

GOODWILL PARTNERSHIP
The Goodwill and Open Hearts Community Mission partnership allows you to make a donation to Goodwill that will benefit Open Hearts Community Mission. For each individual donation made in the name of Open Hearts Community Mission, Goodwill provides the Mission with a $5.00 voucher.
Please submit a “GOODWILL DONOR PARTNER CARD”for each bag, box or item you donate. Please call the attention of the Donor Greeter to take note of each of your Donor Partner Card.
